Golfing in France — Program 2020/21

Canal de Briare – Montargis to Sancerre (Montbouy to Léré)

Our GOLF program is designed to allow as much flexibility as possible. The following is an example of the golf tour itinerary and options and we shall always try to accommodate any specific group and individual preferences. There is a choice of 8 courses. The program can range from 1 to 5 rounds (1 to 5 days) and allows for mixed activities – some guests can play golf while others may select any other activities, such as visits to markets, chateaux, wineries, antique shopping, cycling or just relaxing on board.

such as Moret-sur-Loing, Nemours, Chateau Landon, and Grez-sur-Loing. Since this route takes us on the rivers Seine and Loing you will experience the busy port of St. Mammes with huge laden commercial barges passing through. Our moorings are peaceful and rural with plenty of opportunities to walk, bike or simply relax and allow the crew to pamper you.

Come and join us. Savor the food and wine, and relax while touring a truly enchanting countryside.

Reservations for all play should be made as far in advance as possible to secure first choice tee-times.

There is NO surcharge for any of the golf programs and green fees are included – the guests are responsible for clubs, cart and push carts rentals (if needed) payable directly at the clubhouses. Guests simply pay for days and courses they play. There are often special promotions available and we shall always pass this information to our guests. This is a unique approach to golf programs and identical to our biking program policies.

Guests can select courses that are in the vicinity of non-golfers visits (should the guests desire to get together after their activities prior to returning to the barge), but will always use two vehicles to allow for maximum comfort and shortest possible transportation time (except, of course, when all members of the group choose to golf, in which case one nine-passenger mini-bus will suffice.

Since we have selected eight courses, guests will have the option to mix and match considering the layout, degree of difficulty, travel time to the course, etc. Our desire is to offer as custom-designed program as possible (even 72 holes in a day on different courses are OK).

Should golf tee times make lunch on board impossible, a luncheon at the golf club house will be provided.

A typical itinerary includes (5 days):
